First Communion Registration

It is important for students to understand what the Lutheran Church believes, teaches, and confesses about Holy Communion before they begin to commune. Pastor Ted is offering a class for fifth graders to learn the basics of Holy Communion before students take their First Communion on Maundy Thursday.

This class will cover the major sections of Luther’s Small Catechism. Students will also have the opportunity to try the communion elements in advance (no surprises!) and, if time permits, bake communion bread to be used for their First Communion.

First Communion classes will be held on the following dates:

Wednesday, March 12, 2025, 3:00-4:00pm
Wednesday, March 19, 2025, 3:00-4:00pm
Wednesday, March 26, 2025, 3:00-4:00pm
Wednesday, April 2, 2025, 3:00-4:00pm
Wednesday, April 9, 2025, 3:00-4:00pm

Our standard weather cancellation policy will apply. As long as we are able to have four classes, we will be able to cover all of the material.

First Communion will be on Maundy Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 7:00pm. This will be a powerful and meaningful experience for the students as they consider the Lord’s commandment to “love one another.”
