Holy Week at Our Savior’s

Here is our schedule for Holy Week Services this year:

Palm Sunday
April 12 at 5pm and April 13 at 9am

We begin with a celebration of the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem with palm branches waving, and then we transition into a first telling of the story of the crucifixion.

Maundy Thursday
April 17 at 7pm

We remember Jesus’ Great Commandment, that we love one another as he has loved us. This service will include the ritual of Footwashing, and we will celebrate Holy Communion including First Communion for five fifth graders. The service will conclude with the stripping of the altar as we remember the betrayal and humiliation of Christ.

Good Friday
April 18 at 7pm

We gather to mark the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, which saves us from our sins.

Vigil of Easter
April 19 at 8pm (Saturday night)

As we await the dawn of the resurrection, we kindle a new fire and hear the stories of God’s work in redeeming us throughout history. We will also celebrate Confirmation for two high school students at this service, and we conclude with the first celebration of the Resurrection.

Easter Sunday
April 20 at 9am

We celebrate the victory of Jesus Christ over sin, death, and hell through his glorious Resurrection. This is the highest feast day of the Christian Church and our great reason to celebrate the grace of God!
