Three New Members Received at Worship

On Sunday, October 4, we received three new members into the congregation at Our Savior’s. Hannah Trask, Preston Mix, and Samuel Oladeji came forward during worship, made public affirmation of their baptism, and joined the assembly in confessing the Apostles’ Creed. Our Congregation Council approved their requests at the end of September.

Preston is a Jackson local whose dad’s side of the family is Lutheran, and that’s what drew him to the church. Hannah wanted the two of them to find a church home together, and Our Savior’s is where they decided to grow in faith.

Samuel grew up in Nigeria. When he came to the United States he started attending our church, liked our congregation, and went through the new members class.

Kevin Nelson, who serves on our council, also made public affirmation of his baptism that morning. Kevin was already a member, and he went through the new members class with the others to learn more about the Lutheran faith.

It was a joy to get to know them better over the summer, and I’m grateful to God for bringing them into our lives. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue to grow in faith among us.

We would be honored to have you join us at Our Savior’s if you don’t have a church home.
