‘Charting the Future’ Continues
This year, the Congregation Council invited the whole church into a series of conversations we’re calling Charting the Future. Our goal is to name our “congregational DNA” so we can make faithful decisions about the ministry God is giving us now.
That DNA includes a clear mission statement, expectations for members and leaders, and a shared set of core values. Together, those pieces help us choose well among the many good things we could do, so we can be confident about what we should do.
We’ve already begun. Earlier this year we gathered around the Church’s mission and around what is expected of our members. Thank you to everyone who showed up, listened, and shared your thoughts.
The Council has adjusted parts of the schedule so the remaining gatherings can serve the congregation well. Please note the next two dates coming up:
What is Expected of Our Leaders?
Sunday, August 30, 2026 · 10:15 a.m. · Fellowship Hall
A study and discussion of the additional expectations we have for those who lead in our ministries. From this conversation the Council will shape a proposed Leadership Covenant.
Discerning #1: the Past
Sunday, September 13, 2026 · 10:15 a.m. · Fellowship Hall
We’ll look back at what God has done among us at Our Savior’s, what that history says about our ethos, and how it connects with the Gospels — the first step toward naming our core values.
Both gatherings meet after Sunday worship in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome. We need many perspectives to do this well. The conversations we are having depend on the people of Our Savior’s participating, whether you are a longtime member or newer to our congregation.
If you’ve missed earlier gatherings, you are not behind. Come to the next one!
