Our New Youth Director Brynn Jordahl
I’m pleased to announce the hiring of Brynn Jordahl, our new Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries at Our Savior’s! I asked her to introduce herself. She writes:
Hello! My name is Brynn Jordahl, and I am honored and excited to serve as the Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. My passion is developing and expanding vibrant, Christ-centered ministries that engage children and youth from pre-K through high school, encourage spiritual growth, strengthen families, and build meaningful connections within our church and community. I am incredibly grateful that God has called me into a position where I can use the gifts He has given me to serve Him while walking alongside children, youth, and families as they grow in their faith.
I was born in Kearney, Nebraska, and spent much of my childhood between Nebraska and Iowa, growing up in the Columbus, Holdrege, and Seward areas while helping my family on the farm. Before joining Our Savior’s, I served for six years as the Spirit Sprouts Minister and as a second secretary at Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church in Holdrege, where I had the privilege of serving alongside Pastor Ted. I also spent two years as the Executive Assistant for the Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce, organizing community events, supporting local businesses, and welcoming new families to the area.
When I’m not at church, you’ll usually find me reading or writing, studying the Bible, enjoying a good football game, playing sports, or spending time outdoors. I love bonfires, fishing, four-wheeling, relaxing in a hammock, and dancing around the house to loud music. I’m also the proud owner of four wonderful dogs who keep life entertaining! Family is incredibly important to me. I’m the second oldest of nine siblings—and the only girl—so I jokingly call my eight brothers “my army” because they’ve always looked out for me. I also cherish every opportunity I have to spend time with my nieces, nephews, and my two godchildren.
The person in Scripture I relate to most is Ruth. Her words, “Where you go I will go,” have taken on a special meaning during this season of my life as I have followed God’s calling to Our Savior’s. Throughout my life, I have experienced God’s faithfulness in both joyful and difficult seasons, and I know He has never left my side. My prayer is that I can help others discover that same hope, love, and assurance in Christ. I am so excited to become part of this church family, and I can’t wait to get to know each of you as we grow together in faith and see all that God has in store.
I’m excited to have Brynn join our team, and I really see God’s Providence at work in the circumstances that brought her to us. She will be moving to Our Savior’s second parsonage at the end of August. She’ll begin work on August 24 remotely (training, onboarding, and planning work) and start on-site here the following week.
