Honoring God Through Our Blessings
The following is a letter from Cameron Haaland on behalf of the Stewardship and Finance Committee. The committee is looking to highlight the reasons why we give to support Our Savior’s.
Dear Members of Our Savior’s,
I hope this message finds you well, filled with peace and gratitude. As we continue to journey together in faith, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the importance of stewardship and the role it plays in our shared mission as a church family.
I want to emphasize that our goal is to invite each of you to prayerfully consider how you can give in a way that reflects your personal relationship with God. Giving is an act of worship, an opportunity to express our gratitude for all that He has provided, and to support the work that God is doing in and through our church.
Stewardship, in its truest sense, is not just about financial contributions — though that is a part of it. It is about recognizing that everything we have is a gift from God, and using those gifts in ways that honor Him and further His Kingdom on Earth.
As a congregation, we are a living testament to God’s generosity, and together, we are called to reflect that generosity through our actions, both big and small. The ministries, outreach programs, and services we provide to our community are all made possible through your faithful support — whether that’s through your time, your talents, or your financial gifts.
As Paul says in his second letter to the Corinthians:
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 7:9)
It is not the size of the gift that matters, but the heart behind it. Every gift — whether large or small — adds to the collective impact we have as a community. Dave Hansen, a longtime member of our congregation, puts it very well:
I give to support all of our various church’s ministries.
I give to share all the blessings God has given me personally.
I give to express my gratitude to all that the church does for people.
I give because it makes me feel good.
I encourage you to take some time this week to reflect on what God is calling you to contribute — whether through your financial gifts, your time, or your talents. Please know that your generosity helps us serve others, build relationships, and deepen our faith together.
Thank you for being a part of this wonderful community, for your ongoing support, and for the ways you share your gifts with the world. May God continue to bless you abundantly as you seek to follow Him with a joyful and generous heart.
With deep gratitude and blessings,
Cameron Haaland
