Youth Internship Update

Previously we had announced that we were excited to welcome Esinam Ziddah, who is a citizen of Ghana, to be our youth ministry intern this year. Unfortunately, because her church membership in Ghana was not in a Lutheran Church, it made her ineligible for an R-1 visa. We tried exploring other options for visas, but after consulting with immigration lawyers we have concluded that there are no viable short-term solutions for securing a visa for her to be able to work in the United States for Our Savior’s at this time.

The Council is committed to continuing to work to find professional youth ministry staff, and we don’t expect to have to reduce any programming this year as a result of this obstacle. However, we will continue to rely heavily upon volunteers to provide leadership to our youth and family ministry programs. Thank you for your support of Our Savior’s Youth!
